The school district and teachers union negotiators are scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the district boardroom to discuss teachers’ salaries.

The education board in closed session at its meeting Tuesday decided on a new salary offer, which has not yet been disclosed.

The board is expected to make the offer to teachers at the negotiation meeting.

Negotiations, which have been going on for months, are at a stalemate over a 1% difference in what the district has offered and what the union wants.

The district has offered, and the teachers union rejected, a 5% salary increase with $100,000 put aside for teachers who attend optional staff development days. The union is asking for a 6% raise.
