Beastly Puppets

Performances to Grow On presents “Beauty and the Beast,” performed by the renowned Landis and Company Theater of Magic at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. The company retells the tale with life-size puppets, inventive sets, masks and illusions. The story unfolds to a musical background of classical masterpieces.

Air Show

The Air Show Network and Los Angeles Times sponsor the 2000 Point Mugu Air Show, which opens Friday and continues through Sunday. The show features a Red Baron Stearman squadron, Navy Seal team, various styles of aircraft, flight simulators, a children’s area, food and souvenirs. No coolers or pets will be allowed.

Musical

Ventura College Opera Workshop presents “Kiss Me Kate,” with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, at the Ventura College Theater. The local production is directed by Sean Moran and produced by Linda Ottsen.

Voices

Los Robles Master Chorale holds a Chamber Choir Festival at Moorpark College in the Performing Arts Center. Performing will be the Roger Wagner Chorale, One Voice and Los Robles Chamber Singers. The winner of a two-day competition among high school and junior high choral ensembles will also perform.
