Albertson’s Names New Regional President
Dave Simonson has been appointed president of Albertson’s Inc.’s Southern California region in Buena Park. He most recently served as Albertson’s executive vice president of operations in Boise, Idaho.
* Karlene Wells has joined BKD Design in Fountain Valley as project coordinator. She was previously art director for Carmichael Lynch Advertising and account coordinator for Baker and Associates, both in Minneapolis. Nancy Bennett was named senior designer. Previously she was a freelancer, and before that was art director at the Baxter Stone ad agency.
* Charles C. Mai has been named tracking services manager for Safeco Select Insurance Services’ regional services center in Santa Ana. He succeeds Mark Sorrentino, who moved to the sales department. Mai joined the company in 1998 and was formerly customer service supervisor.
* Steve Williams has joined 3DSP Corp. in Irvine as vice president of business development. He was previously with LSI Logic, Lucent/AT&T;, Digital Equipment Corp., NEC Electronics and Tera Microsystems.
* Brian Garbutt has been named to the board of directors of Lee & Associates Newport Beach Inc. He was also made a senior vice president of the commercial real estate firm. Garbutt, an office specialist, joined the company in 1996 as an associate.
* Doug Sanborn has joined Sagence Systems Inc. in Newport Beach as director of product management. He most recently served as director of development for Epicor Software Corp.
* Scott Magers has been named president of Logic Nutrition in Irvine, a food supplement company. Before joining the company, Magers taught and coached at Chapman University in Orange and Riverside City College.
