No. 3 La Quinta Wins 16th Straight

La Quinta tied a school record for consecutive victories Friday, extending its winning streak to 16 games with a 3-0 victory over Los Amigos in a Garden Grove League baseball game at La Quinta.

The Aztecs (16-0, 5-0), ranked third in the county, equaled the record set by the 1998 team, which finished 30-2. During the streak, La Quinta has given up 20 runs and committed only 10 errors.

Freshman right-hander Ian Kennedy (6-0) allowed two hits over six innings and struck out 10 Friday. Jim Garvey hit a two-run home run in the third inning.

Bishop Griggs (4-2) took the loss for Los Amigos (6-7, 2-4).
