NEWPORT BEACH
The Planning Commission delayed making a decision on the proposed Newport Dunes resort complex until later this month, after spending nearly four hours Thursday night examining environmental documents.
In an unofficial straw vote, the commission approved the developer’s request to expand its conference space from 25,000 square feet to 31,000 square feet.
It also supported the developer’s request to replace 18 rooms that were eliminated from the plan when Newport Dunes planners agreed to shorten a building by one story.
