Three Film Festivals Seeking Entries

Several film festivals have put out recent calls for entries.

Among them:

* The fourth annual Hollywood Film Festival will accept submissions through April 30. The festival, to be held Aug. 2-7 at venues including the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and Paramount Studios, will also select five finalist films each month for the Hollywood Online Film Festival, with finalists shown and voted on at https://www.etonline.com.

Online winners will be shown as part of August’s Hollywood Film Festival.

* Montreal’s 18th annual “Just for Laughs” comedy festival, taking place in Quebec July 13-23, is seeking “hysterical, off-beat, cutting-edge” short films and full-length comedy features. Information: Evan Rimer, 2101 St. Laurent, Montreal, Quebec, H2X 2T5, or fax: (514) 845-4140.

* The 2000 Method Fest Independent Film Festival is seeking “story-driven” feature films and shorts “where the actors are the backbone of what drives the action on screen.”

The entry fee is $50 for features, $40 for short subjects and are due by April 28. The festival takes place June 16-23 at Laemmle’s Playhouse 7 in Pasadena.
