Where to Park at LAX
More parking lots and higher fees in most of the established private garages reflect the surge in travel this year. But parking lots within LAX’s Central Terminal (which has about 25,000 spaces) haven’t raised their rates, according to LAX spokesman Tom Winfrey.
The Department of Airports runs long-term parking lots B (about 6,000 spaces) and C (about 8,000). Both are patrolled by airport police, and shuttles run at 10- to 20-minute intervals day and night.
Private lots and hotel garages within half a mile or so of the terminals offer shuttles or valet service 24 hours a day. Vans and buses are found at the green signs outside each terminal.
Garages vary in price, services and amenities, so it’s important to shop around. Some are basic open-air lots. Others will wash your car, lube it and put it under cover with high-tech surveillance cameras. Parking rates at hotels may vary for guests and non-guests.
Don’t want to deal with driving to the airport? The Metro Rail Green Line stops at Imperial and Aviation. A shuttle runs from the Aviation Metro Rail station to the airport every 15 minutes from 4:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. daily. MTA bus riders can catch the shuttle from Lot C.
