Cerplex Group Fails to Make $2.2 Million Debt Payment

The Cerplex Group Inc., a computer hardware servicing company, said Tuesday that it did not make its $2.2 million payment on certain debt securities and will try to find other financing.

The Santa Ana company said in a press release that it was required to make payments of $404,008 in interest and $1.8 million in principal on Monday.

The $10.4 million in securities carry a 7 3/4% interest rate and are due to be paid off next year.

Cerplex warned that while it is seeking financing alternatives, it did not know if those alternatives would allow it to pay off the debt.
