Access Ramp to Be Built in Channel
A new access ramp along the Aliso Creek channel will be built beginning in June to accommodate public works crews that maintain the area, officials said Tuesday.
The project is expected to take two months to complete and cost between $170,000 and $200,000. The work will take place between Plummer and Nordhoff streets and Vanalden and Wilbur avenues in Northridge.
The new roadway will reduce maintenance costs and extend the service life of the concrete floor by providing better access for city workers, Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky said.
Yaroslavsky also said 8,500 street drains in Sherman Oaks, Encino and Los Feliz will be cleaned this summer as part of an annual project. The project will cost between $85,000 and $110,000.
