No Doubt Tops in Its Home Base

Share

Some things are predictable on the Southern California sales charts, such as No Doubt topping the list in its home turf, and Toni Braxton ruling the singles chart across the board. The surprise this week is “Guerra de Estados Pesados,” which registered at No. 9 in the region but just No. 166 nationally. But maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise--this compilation of norten~o bands is a strong affirmation that Mexican American music is the most popular Latin style in Southern California, just as tropical music dominates on the East Coast.
