Bathrick to Lead Naval Test Squadron

Capt. Mark L. Bathrick will assume command of the Naval Weapons Test Squadron in a traditional ceremony Thursday.

Bathrick, who will command for 18 months, takes over from Capt. Alexander B. Hnarakis.

A native of Whitesboro, N.Y., Bathrick, 42, was commissioned upon graduation from the Naval Academy in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. He graduated from the Navy Fighter Weapons School in 1984.

Bathrick served as chief test pilot at Point Mugu for 18 months before being elevated to commanding officer.
