Campaign funds--A headline Tuesday may have implied that Rockard J. Delgadillo had surpassed Mike Feuer in fund-raising for the city attorney’s race. In fact, Delgadillo took in more money during the six months ending June 30, but Feuer has raised more money overall.

In the city attorney race, Mike Feuer, now the councilman for the 5th District, reported $137,848 in contributions from the first six months of the year.

“We’re delighted,” said Feuer campaign consultant Larry Levine, adding that all contributions were from individuals. “We will have the funds to run an aggressive campaign.’

Levine said that when combined with last year’s fund-raising efforts, the councilman has $361,000 available.

For the same first six months of this year, Rockard J. Delgadillo, deputy mayor for Economic Development, surged ahead of Feuer, amassing $272,462. Also in the race, Lea Purwin D’Agostino received $86,223. A fourth candidate, Frank Tavelman, could not be reached for comment.

In the race for city controller, Laura Chick, now the councilwoman for the 3rd District, amassed about $95,000.

“We think her message is loud and clear that she is not a candidate that you want to take on,” said Steve Afriat, her campaign manager. Chick’s war chest, including last year’s fund-raising efforts, total about $276,000, he said.

Chick faces J. Paul Brownridge in the controller race, but he could not be reached Monday.
