2 Men Hit by Same Bullet in Shooting

A business deal that soured between friends may have been the motive in a shooting at a Winnetka home, police said Friday.

Police arrested Majid Mossanen, 44, of Los Angeles, after two men were shot. He was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and was being held on $500,000 bail at Van Nuys Jail.

Mossanen, allegedly armed with a loaded handgun, went to the home of Morpeza Soheyey, 52, in the 2000 block of Lorne Street about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, said Lt. George Rock of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Valley Division.

He and Soheyey got into a heated argument, when Mossanen pulled out the gun and threatened him, police said. Soheyey was trying to wrestle the gun away from Mossanen when a shot was fired, according to the police account.

Soheyey was hit in the stomach and Djamshid Ahssid, 53, of Los Angeles, was hit in the thigh by the same bullet, Rock said.

Both men were taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where they were listed in good condition.

Rock said a neighbor visiting Soheyey at the time of the shooting managed to subdue Mossanen until police arrived. Police believe Mossanen was upset over a business deal that may have gone bad.

“It had something to do with real estate,” Rock said. “Whether these men were partners in this deal, we don’t know right now.”
