Trains and Trash
Re “MTA to Clean Up Trash Near Subway,” July 25.
Two weeks ago when my relatives (visiting from Ireland) and I were down at the Lankershim station, I was appalled at the trash. Then we looked all over the place and could not find a trash can anywhere on the lot.
Two days before that, we were at the Metrolink station at the Burbank Airport. We watched a little girl trying to find a trash can to dispose of her candy wrapper and--guess what--no trash can anywhere to be found.
There was one on the other side, which meant the child had to cross the railroad tracks to get to it.
Hello. Is there anybody out there with half an ounce of common sense?
