Celebrate the joys of tofu the Japanese American way at the Los Angeles Tofu Festival this weekend. Sponsored by the Little Tokyo Service Center, this festival will feature the food booths of more than 40 restaurants, caterers and food companies. There’ll be cooking demos, a health expo and entertainment. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. In a parking lot (across from the Japanese American Cultural Center), 237 S. Teapot Viewing: Gaze at teapots by Peter Shire that have been sculpted from steel into whimsical shapes. Some are as big as 30 inches high, quite a bit larger than his ceramic works.
