Bold Dreams
Re “To Virtually Go Where No Man Has Gone Before,” Commentary, Aug. 7: The history of our race would be dull indeed if John Merchant had been around to rob us of our heroes. The bold dreams of Hillary and Tenzing, Gagarin, Armstrong and Aldrin are the pride and legacy of every man and woman in every nation for all time. Surely our next hero will be the human who first kicks Mars dust into the face of Merchant’s robot.
