SAN CLEMENTE
The author of a coffee-table book on San Clemente history received an award from the California Media Professionals on Monday, said officials from the Heritage of San Clemente Foundation, which published the book.
Orange County historian Doris I. Walker’s “The Heritage of San Clemente” was named Best Historical Book of the Year by the statewide association.
The 252-page book focuses on San Clemente’s history, before and after it was founded by Ole Hanson in 1925.
Walker has earned awards for previous books, including a centennial history of the county and a history of the Capistrano Bay area.
