Billowy new tunes from the guitarist and bassist of hippie-popsters Blind Melon, Pearl Jam’s ex-drummer and a sound-alike for Melon’s late singer Shannon Hoon make for a record that resonates with ethereal intensity, even if it sounds a little too much like its members’ former projects. Still, there are a couple of unique gems in the derivative dust, such as the sinuous “Cessna” and the dreamily dramatic “California.”
