Freeway Accident Kills at Least 1

At least one person was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash on the westbound Riverside Freeway on Sunday night, authorities said.

The incident occurred after 9 p.m. and shut down several lanes of the freeway near Weir Canyon Road, but further details, including the number of vehicles involved, were unavailable.

A spokesman for the Orange County coroner’s office said an investigator had been summoned to the scene. The California Highway Patrol was investigating the cause of the crash, a dispatcher said.
