IRVINE
The Public Works Department will launch five projects next month.
Senior Civil Engineer Mark Stowell said crews will kick off the week of Sept. 5 by installing a fresh layer of asphalt on Irvine Center Drive between Jeffrey Road and Sand Canyon Avenue. Workers also will lay new asphalt on a stretch of Von Karman Avenue between Campus Drive and Main Street.
Crews also will work on portions of Von Karman between Dupont Drive and the San Diego Freeway. And Irvine will strengthen Trabuco Road from Culver Drive to Yale Avenue by removing and replacing the top 2 inches of pavement. Crews will shut down only one lane at a time.
In Woodbridge, workers will replace the pavement on Main Street between Culver Drive and West Yale Loop and a portion of East Yale Loop from Barranca Parkway to Briarwood.
Stowell said the projects should be done in just over two months.
