For the third time this year, a Bank of America branch in the 2400 block of Saviers Road was robbed Friday morning, police said.
The holdup occurred about 10 a.m. at a branch in the parking lot of the Centerpoint Mall, said Oxnard Police Cmdr. Tom Chronister. The branch was robbed in July and May, but apparently not by the same person, he said.
In the most recent case, a man described as black, in his early 50s, 5-feet-10 and 200 pounds, entered the bank, handed a teller a demand note and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was seen, Chronister said.
Officers searched the area and federal agents planned to review surveillance tape.
