On Monday, the Festival of Arts announced the addition of two members to its beleaguered board of directors.
The festival’s five directors unanimously approved the appointment of Kerry Smith, a festival exhibitor and watercolor artist from Dana Point, and Ronald T. Perrella of Laguna Niguel, who owns a marketing company.
The festival board is under fire from festival members who want to stop its proposed move to San Clemente. A recall election of the festival board is scheduled next month.
The new members fill seats left open by the recent resignations of Richard Bianchino and Lance Heck.
Two seats on the nine-member board remain open due to the resignations of Hedy Buzan and David Young.
Smith’s and Perrella’s terms expire in November, but both are running for election.
