2 Sought in Slaying at Fast-Food Restaurant

Los Angeles County sheriff’s investigators are searching for two people suspected in the slaying of a 20-year-old Pacoima man who was shot while waiting in the drive-through lane of a fast-food restaurant.

Authorities said Mario Duarte was killed about 1 a.m. Aug. 20 at a Jack in the Box in the 300 block of Mission Boulevard in San Fernando. Duarte and a male in his mid-to late teens had been involved in a minor traffic dispute minutes before the shooting.

Investigators are looking for the youth, who is of medium build, has dark eyes and a shaved head. He has a cut or scar on his forehead. Authorities are also looking for woman in her late teens or early 20s, about 5-foot-3 and possibly heavy-set. She has dyed reddish-orange hair with blond streaks in front. Her lower lip is pierced with a metal stud.

The suspects’ vehicle was described as a 1990s Ford Explorer, possibly blue or gray, with dark tinted windows.
