British Academy to Present Program of Nine Short Irish Films Tonight

“Made in Northern Ireland: 2,” a showcase for the new wave of Irish directors, screens nine short films tonight at 7:30 at Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Ave., Hollywood.

The program, the second of two nights of screenings presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles, comprises “The Case of Magella McGinty” (24 minutes), directed by Kirsten Sheridan; “Elsewhere” (13 minutes), by Brian Drysdale; “The Good Son” (10 minutes), by Sean McGuire; “Odd Sock” (11 minutes), by Colette Cullen; “Don’t Walk” (10 minutes), by Colm McManus and Tom Heaney; “Salvage” (9 minutes), by Maeve Murphy; “Billy and Zorba” (20 minutes), by Brian Kirk; “Gravity” (3 minutes), by Romek Dellmatra; and “The Rules of Golf” (5 minutes), by Hugh McGrory.

The directors and producers of the films will be present at the screenings.
