Hebert’s Shoulder Better

Goaltender Guy Hebert had his toughest workout since suffering an injured left shoulder Nov. 22 against the New Jersey Devils. Later, Hebert did not rule out playing in Sunday’s game against the Kings at the Arrowhead Pond.

“I’m feeling better, it’s getting better,” said Hebert, who was injured when teammate German Titov accidentally ran over him.

Dominic Roussel started Thursday’s game against the San Jose Sharks as Coach Craig Hartsburg stuck to his plan of giving Roussel and Jean-Sebastien Giguere two starts each on this four-game trip.

Titov returned to the lineup after a three-game absence because of a concussion. Titov was injured last week when New Jersey’s Scott Stevens checked him hard in the Devils’ 5-2 victory.

Titov played between Marty McInnis and Petr Tenkrat, who made his NHL debut Thursday. Hartsburg hoped they would spark the Ducks.

Tenkrat, the Ducks’ eighth-round pick in the 1999 draft, has been one of the organization’s bright young prospects. He had nine goals, including six on the power play, and 16 points for Cincinnati of the American Hockey League.

“From all reports, he’s improved his defense,” Hartsburg said. “We always knew he could score. What’s impressed everybody is his work ethic and how he’s trying to become a better all-around player.”
