In Sync With ‘N Sync

Thank you for your review of ‘N Sync (“ ‘N Sync Shows Off More Moves Than Grooves,” by Steve Appleford, Nov. 28). However, I have a different opinion of the Sunday night concert at Staples Center. As the mother of three children, ages 16, 14 and 11, this was my third ‘N Sync concert in the last 24 months, and I enjoyed every minute.
You see, I remember attending the Young Rascals, Association and “early” Beatles concerts when I was one of those “legions of adolescent girls.” Those were the days when you could attend a concert and not have to smell marijuana or alcohol all around you! The expressions of joy on my children’s faces as ‘N Sync sang “songs still written by outsiders” and “focused on creating those precise and all-important dance steps” will be memories long cherished by this baby-boomer mom.
My only hope is that ‘N Sync survives the music industry, and reviews such as Appleford’s, long enough for my children to pass through their “adolescent” years. I will count on my treasured L.A. Times to let me know when ‘N Sync returns to the Los Angeles area; I plan to be first in line for tickets.
