A 27-year-old man was in critical condition at a local hospital Saturday after being shot in the head during an argument, authorities said.
John Harvey was arguing with Edward Vander, 26, in the 300 block of East Avenue H-14 when Vander allegedly fired a shot that missed and then a second shot, said Sheriff’s Lt. Wallace Fullerton of the Lancaster station.
Vander fled on foot and reportedly hid in the nearby attic of a female acquaintance. When deputies arrived 10 minutes later, the woman told them Vander was in her home. He was arrested without incident, Fullerton said.
Vander was booked on attempted murder charges and is being held at Lancaster station in lieu of $1-million bail, authorities said.
