What’s happening the next few weeks:

* “La Tournee Champs-Elysees Paris,” described as a “ ‘lido-style’ spectacular” featuring two dozen performers, including dancers, acrobats and musicians, arrives at the McCallum Theatre (73000 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, [760] 340-ARTS) for eight performances beginning Jan. 9. Included in the show is a guest appearance by Tony Sandler of the Sandler & Young singing duo.

* Hit the pre- and post-holiday sales at Desert Hills Premium Outlets just west of Palm Springs (48400 Seminole Drive, Cabazon, [909] 849-6641; closed Christmas Day). The two-part outdoor mall features 120 stores and bills itself as “the West Coast’s largest collection of designer outlets.” Stores include Donna Karan, Versace, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike Factory Store and Gap outlet.

* After its Jan. 11 world premiere at UCLA’s Royce Hall, the gymnastics-meets-dance program “Aeros” will be performed to a live score at the McCallum Theatre (73000 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, [760] 340-ARTS) on Jan. 30 and 31. The production features the athleticism of world-class Romanian gymnasts combined with choreography from Daniel Ezralow, David Parsons and Moses Pendleton, in collaboration with “Stomp” creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas.

* The newly opened “George Hurrell: Portraits of Hollywood Stars” features portraits of legendary actors from the heyday of the motion picture studio system. Included are shots of Greta Garbo, Jean Harlow, Joan Crawford, James Cagney, Lon Chaney and others (Palm Springs Desert Museum, 101 Museum Drive, Palm Springs, [760] 325-0189; closed Mondays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day).

* “Tango Passion,” a Hector Zaraspe-choreographed production that Paris’ Le Figaro newspaper said features “the best tango orchestra in the world, along with many of the world’s greatest tango dancers,” appears at the McCallum Theatre (73000 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, [760] 340-ARTS) on Jan. 26 and 27.

* Russia’s St. Petersburg String Quartet performs Jan. 7 at the Annenberg Theater (Palm Springs Desert Museum, 101 Museum Drive, Palm Springs, [760] 325-0189), with soloist Justin Blasdale on piano.
