A 42-year-old woman killed in a traffic accident Tuesday night was identified as Annik Masihi Gharibian of Northridge, authorities said.

Gharibian was identified Wednesday afternoon by Los Angeles County coroner’s investigators, said Scott Carrier, a department spokesman.

Seven other people were hurt, at least one critically, in a two-vehicle accident involving a minivan and a BMW sedan in the 7600 block of Balboa Boulevard, authorities said.

Gharibian was a passenger in the BMW, which was driven by Anadreh Kalantar-Moradian, 27, of Northridge. A woman in her 40s and two women, ages 21 and 19, were also in the BMW, authorities said.

Kalantar-Moradian was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center with critical injuries, authorities said. The other passengers were treated at area hospitals.

The driver of the minivan, Jesus Barrientos, 48, of Reseda, and two women passengers were treated for minor injuries at local hospitals, authorities said.

The accident happened about 9:30 p.m. when the southbound BMW collided with the westbound minivan at Balboa Boulevard and Saticoy Street.

The BMW then hit a bus shelter on the southwest corner of Balboa, killing Gharibian, who was in the left rear seat, authorities said.

One of the vehicles ran a red light, but investigators haven’t determined who was at fault, authorities said.
