Annual Water Class Starts in January

Reservations are being taken for the Mesa Consolidated Water District’s annual six-month water class in January, which will cover local, regional and statewide issues.

The district, which seeks to educate community members on important issues, is offering the 15th annual class for free. The program includes monthly lectures on topics such as local ground-water supplies, water quality, reclaimed water, import water and Mesa’s long-range plan to provide water to the community.

The district provides service to more than 100,000 customers in Costa Mesa and parts of Newport Beach.

Participants also will be invited to tour local and regional water facilities.

The first meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 17 in Mesa’s district office, 1965 Placentia Ave. Each meeting is held the third Wednesday of the month through June. Information: (949) 631-1205.
