* LONG BEACH STATE (14-3, 6-0) at UC IRVINE (8-9, 1-5), 7, KPLS (830), KUCI-FM (88.9)--The 49ers have won 12 consecutive games, equaling the fourth-longest streak in school history, and lead the Big West Conference Western Division. Point guard Charles O’Neal, who quit the team last week, has been reinstated but probably won’t start. Although Rock Lloyd, last year’s leading scorer, has struggled, center Mate Milisa is having an exceptional season, averaging a team-high 19 points. Milisa and power forward James Williams may be too much for Irvine, which has received little production from its centers. And now freshman center Matt Okoro is out because of a sprained right ankle. Guard Zamiro Bennem has been slowed because of a thigh injury.
