In the Century League:

El Modena 4, Villa Park 2--El Modena jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and held on for the victory. Augustine Vilchis scored two goals for the Vanguards (3-5-2, 2-3-1), while Lee Berry scored twice for Villa Park.

Foothill 1, Canyon 0--Juan Enriquez scored off an assist from Jimmy Grigas with eight minutes to play for host Foothill (11-7-4, 4-1-2). Ryan Keys made eight saves for Canyon (9-7-6, 3-2-2).

In the Empire League:

No. 5 El Dorado 5, Kennedy 2--Sophomore Greg Reese scored three goals and Nacho Cid scored twice, giving him 33 this season, to lead visiting El Dorado (23-3, 7-0).

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 2, Troy 1 (OT)--Bret Weyer scored the winner on a penalty kick two minutes into the second overtime period for host La Habra (8-5-5, 3-2-2).

In the Sea View League:

No. 9 Irvine 3, Aliso Niguel 2--Matt Taylor scored all three goals for visiting Irvine (9-2-4, 3-1-2), including the game-winner in the 56th minute.

Laguna Hills 2, Newport Harbor 0--Martin Rocha’s second-half goal on a penalty kick was the game-winner for Laguna Hills (4-12-3, 1-4-1).

In the Sunset League:

No. 2 Fountain Valley 3, Marina 1--Host Fountain Valley (14-2-3, 5-1-2) and Marina (1-7 in league) exchanged goals in the first half before the Barons put it away with a pair of second-half scores.

Sean Iliff scored a goal in each half and Cliff McKinley also scored in the second half for Fountain Valley. Drew Dominesey had the Vikings’ goal.

No. 4 Edison 1, Los Alamitos 0--Bill Pena scored an unassisted goal on a direct kick from 40 yards out to win it for visiting Edison (14-3-2, 5-2-1).

No. 10 Esperanza 2, Huntington Beach 1--Sammer Mudawar and Ronnie Magsaysay scored second-half goals for host Esperanza (15-5-3, 5-3). Nick Schwab’s goal gave Huntington Beach (13-4-2, 3-4-1) a 1-0 halftime advantage.

In Garden Grove League girls’ soccer:

No. 8 Pacifica 10, La Quinta 0--Tami Fipps’ three goals paced Pacifica (17-1-3, 9-0). La Quinta is 5-4-1, 4-4.
