* 1/2 Enigma, “The Screen Behind the Mirror,” Virgin. Gauzy electronics . . . understated, female-spoken phrases . . . then wham! choral bombast from Carl Orff’s dramatic (if over-used) “Carmina Burana.” That’s the first 30 seconds of German world/new age machine Michael Cretu’s latest, and that’s all that’s worth hearing. The rest is a muddle of subdued electronica, indifferent borrowings (more “Carmina Burana”) and banal stabs at Peter Gabriel mystique and techno-soul.
