Carl’s Jr. Names Regional Vice President

Emil Boutros has been named regional vice president for Carl’s Jr. He will oversee 68 restaurants in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. Boutros joined Carl’s Jr. in 1981 as an assistant manager and was later named general manager. In 1989, he was appointed district manager, overseeing restaurants primarily in Ventura County. In addition, Kathie Cash has been appointed director, information technology and planning. She had been manager. Before joining Carl’s Jr. parent CKE Restaurants last year, Cash was with ARV Assisted Living as director, information technology, and KPMG Peat Marwick as a senior technology analyst.

* Hovig Stanboulian has been appointed manager of the Brea local engineering services office of Underwriter Laboratories Inc. He has been with UL for more than six years.

* Mark S. Yancey has joined Metropolitan West Capital Management LLC in Newport Beach as senior vice president. He will head the Dallas office. Yancey has previously worked for Wells Capital Management, Aetna Capital Management and Palley-Needelman Asset Management.

* Ed Poettgen is the new chairman of the Orange County Community Housing Corp. He is the pastor of St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Stanton. Poettgen succeeds Melissa DeMotte, who has been chairman for three years.
