A clerical error set different prices for all mobile home parks in the city when Brea Disposal adjusted its garbage rates in July, company officials said.

Company policy in the past has been to set standard rates for the entire city, depending on the number of garbage containers a home used.

Councilman Steve Vargas was informed of a mobile home park resident who said she was paying too much. After an investigation, a disparity in trash charges to local mobile home parks was discovered. The city worked with Brea Disposal to find the source of the error and correct it. Checks were written to mobile home park associations to reimburse residents for the extra charge.
