The city will soon replace deteriorated sewer lines within the Los Robles area to prevent soil contamination and backup.

The $1.3-million project will affect areas along Goff and Reed streets and Short and Park avenues. City Manager Kenneth C. Frank said the pipes, most of which are underneath about 40 residential backyards, are probably leaking sewage and are subject to backing up. The project will move the pipes under the streets, making them easier to maintain.
