Utah forward Hanno Mottola will sit out at least one more game, Saturday’s Mountain West Conference contest at New Mexico, because of injuries.

Mottola, a senior who leads No. 21 Utah in scoring average at 17.5 points a game, suffered torn ligaments in his right thumb and left elbow and has missed the last two games. He was evaluated by team physicians on Wednesday.

In addition to missing Saturday’s game, he also is doubtful for Monday night’s game against visiting Nevada Las Vegas.

The Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has decided to move its tournament from Orangeburg, S.C., to Jacksonville, Fla., to support the NAACP’s tourism boycott of South Carolina.

The boycott is designed to pressure the General Assembly to remove the Confederate flag from the top of the Statehouse. The tournament was planned for March 2-4 at Claflin College.
