Calling the city’s latest traffic figures scary and sobering, City Council members expressed alarm last week that conditions are expected to only get worse with added traffic from proposed housing developments.

The council voiced concern after City Engineer Phil Wray detailed the worst “choke points” in the city and assigned letter grades to the worst roads and intersections during the morning and evening rush hours.

Councilwoman Lynn Daucher said: “I don’t know what the heck we’re going to do. These problems are severe. I don’t think anyone can look at that and come to another conclusion.”
