STANTON
The City Council on Tuesday will discuss the feasibility of a skateboard park in the city. The city’s staff is expected to present ideas on locations and types of parks.
The council will also discuss recent regulations passed by the Stanton Park Neighborhood Assn. banning skateboarding in the Stanton Park neighborhood. Some residents protested the ban at the Feb. 8 council meeting, saying the rule has no legal validity because it bans skateboarding on city streets. The residents pointed out that the streets running through Stanton Park are owned by the city and skateboarding is not illegal in Stanton.
