19th Corwin Master Class Program for Music Students Is Seeking Applicants

The Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County will hold its 19th Annual Corwin Master Class program for young music students in the coming weeks, with a class with pianist Yefim Bronfman on Saturday and others with musicians of the Los Angeles Philharmonic on March 12.

Musicians ages 16 to 25 who plan symphonic careers may apply to the program up until the day before each class.

The Bronfman piano class, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will be held at the Colburn School of Performing Arts, 200 S. Grand Ave., one block south of the downtown Performing Arts Center.

The L.A. Philharmonic classes--scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. and including instruction in cello, clarinet, oboe, flute, violin, trumpet, horn, trombone and percussion--will take place in rehearsal halls at the Performing Arts Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at 135 N. Grand Ave.
