Catch a Flick About Surfing That Has a Christian Theme

A Christian surfing movie will be shown at 7 tonight in Corona del Mar.

The movie, “Changes,” features surfing footage intercut with Christian testimonies from well-known professional surfers, including Tom Curren, Tita Tavares and C.T. Taylor.

Admission is free; cost of the screening is being picked up by six local churches and the Port Theater, where the film will be shown.

‘Federation Sabbath’ to Be Observed

Orange County synagogues will observe “Jewish Federation Sabbath” on various Fridays in March. Speakers will describe programs offered by the Jewish Federation of Orange County and the importance of its Annual Campaign, a fund-raising drive that supports federation youth services, Jewish education, emergency relief programs, the needy and the elderly.

Services will take place at 8 p.m., unless otherwise indicated, at the following synagogues:

* Friday at Congregation Beth Jacob, 3900 Michelson Drive, Irvine.

* On March 10 at Congregation B’nai Israel, 2111 Bryan Ave., Tustin; at Congregation Shir Ha-Ma’alot, 3652 Michelson Drive, Irvine (7:30 p.m.); at Temple Beth Emet, 1770 W. Cerritos Ave., Anaheim; and at University Synagogue, 4915 Alton Parkway, Irvine.

* On March 17 at Temple Beth Tikvah, 1600 N. Acacia Ave., Fullerton; at Temple Bat Yahm, 1011 Camelback St., Newport Beach; at Temple Beth Shalom, 2625 N. Tustin Ave., Santa Ana; at Temple Beth El, 27462 Terrace View, Aliso Viejo; and again at University Synagogue in Irvine.

* On March 24 at Congregation B’nai Tzedek, 9669 Talbert Ave., Fountain Valley; at Temple Judea 24512 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills.
