The Orange County Historical Society will meet Jan. 13 to view a slide presentation about the boats of the Balboa Island Ferry from Seymour Beek, son of Joe Beek, who started the service in 1919. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Bowers Museum, 2001 N. Main St. Information: (714) 993-7009.
