Public Invited to Tour Navy Ship

Share

The public is invited aboard the Navy frigate Wadsworth for tours Saturday and Sunday after it docks at the Naval Surface Warfare Center for maintenance.

The frigate is scheduled to be in port from Friday through Jan. 12 for what the Navy calls a “combat systems groom,” during which a team of warfare center engineers will look over all of the Wadsworth’s combat systems.

Those who want to tour the Wadsworth must enter the Naval Construction Battalion Center through the Pleasant Valley gate and follow the signs to Wharf 3. Visitors can tour the ship from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Private group tours of the frigate are also available.
