Bradley Outpaces Gore in N.H. Advertising Race

WASHINGTON — Bill Bradley has outspent Al Gore 2-to-1 in New Hampshire on television ads that make him look serious and studious--the very image the vice president is working to shed.
“Bill Bradley is who he is,” said spokeswoman Kristen Ludecke. “He’s very straightforward about his beliefs. The main objective of our ad team in many ways is to just get out of the way.”
Bradley has spent nearly $2 million to bring those images to New Hampshire--twice as much as Gore has spent in the state that will host the nation’s first primary on Feb. 1.
And in Iowa, host of the presidential caucuses Jan. 24, Bradley has spent nearly $1 million, a bit more than Gore. Additionally, Bradley also has reserved nearly $1 million worth of air time for January, allowing him to saturate the airwaves through the caucuses.
