The weekly Farmers Market and Craft Fair that will be held today from 1 p.m. to dusk will be at Pier Plaza rather than the usual downtown location.

The new location will be tested for three months, after which the City Council will decide whether to make the change permanent.

The move was spurred by complaints from downtown merchants who say they lose customers when streets close every Friday to make room for the outdoor booths, which sell everything from fruits and flowers to handcrafted merchandise.
