Not a Good Start for Lavin and Bruins

Share

Pete Dalis, I think this is the time to really look at your basketball program and the “coach.” UCLA has had some of the best recruits in the program in a long time and Steve Lavin has not done anything to prove that he can make this a cohesive team that is able to contend for a Pac-10 title, let alone a national one. I was willing to overlook the distraction after the JaRon Rush thing, but now it seems as if they are permanently distracted. After reading the sports section Thursday, the women’s team seems to have someone to challenge them. Too bad the men’s team has no one like that. It is now understandable why Baron Davis left. He knew that the team had no chance of going anywhere unless they get rid of Lavin.

Hopefully, the Bruins’ loss to Washington will drop them out of the top 25, where they should never have been in the first place. They are pitiful. What is even more pitiful is that $578,000-a-year salary and contract extension Lavin got. Hey, when does Dalis get fired for such nonsense?
