Irvine Valley 72, Saddleback 67--Ryan Ellis made a three-point shot with 31 seconds left to put host Irvine Valley (12-6, 1-1) ahead, 70-67.

Imran Sufi made a crucial steal for the Lasers, was fouled with nine seconds left and made both free throws.

Mike Donegan had 22 points and 13 rebounds for Saddleback (13-6, 1-1).

Riverside 82, Fullerton 79--Fullerton (10-9, 0-2), trailing by seven with 35 seconds left, had a chance to tie at the buzzer, but Shelton Wise’s three-pointer fell short. Chris Smith led the Hornets with 22 points. Riverside is 15-6, 2-0.

Santa Ana 83, Golden West 73--Mark Wulfemeyer scored seven of his 20 points during a 16-5 run late in the game that gave visiting Santa Ana a 72-62 lead. Neither team led by more than six points through the first 36 minutes. Zac Fray had 24 points and 17 rebounds for the Dons (16-3, 2-0).

In women’s games:

Orange Coast 68, Cypress 63--The Pirates (18-1, 2-0) had three players in double figures as they won their 16th consecutive game.

Trina Allen scored 31 points and had nine rebounds and Sharee Brown had 19 points and 13 rebounds for visiting Cypress.

Santa Ana 74, Golden West 43--Santa Ana forced 38 turnovers and committed just 18 in its victory at Golden West. Atari Parker made four three-pointers and scored 29 points for the Dons (15-2, 2-0).

Riverside 64, Fullerton 61--Fullerton (14-7, 1-1) was up by 17 at the half but was outscored, 44-24, in the second half.

The Hornets’ Missy Bynon missed a three-point try as time ran out.
