SAN FRANCISCO--Activities to mark the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. next weekend will include a Youth and Family Day at the Sony Metreon Center, noon-6 p.m. Saturday. At 10 a.m. Jan. 17, the Freedom Train from San Jose to San Francisco will depart, followed by a march at 11:30 a.m. from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, where there will be food and entertainment from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Free. OXNARD--Join the Freedom March and family program Jan. 17 for Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. There will be a march at 8 a.m. from Plaza Park, Fifth and C streets, to the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, where choirs, poets and others will present a program at 9 a.m. 800 Hobson Way. 8 a.m.-noon. $4. MAMMOTH LAKES--A festival linked with the Winter Gravity Games will land on Mammoth Mountain Jan. 21-23. Check out sports equipment all three days outside Canyon Lodge. On Friday night, view highlights of the day’s skiing and snowboarding contests and hear music 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. at the lodge. On Saturday, a concert will begin at 8 p.m. ($15). Free.
