The City Council will meet in a special session at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to consider hiring an attorney to defend Mayor John Gullixson in a lawsuit filed against him by City Manager Arthur Simonian.
Simonian sued Gullixson last month contending his right to privacy was violated by the mayor, who released documents to the public related to the city’s investigation against the longtime city manager.
The City Council fired Simonian in September for alleged financial malfeasance, but he was reinstated by a judge who ruled that the City Council did not follow the proper procedure to terminate him. He is now on paid administrative leave.
