Bridget Jurgens, a senior at Esperanza High School, won the title of Miss Placentia 2000 on Saturday, taking home a $2,500 scholarship and the chance to represent the city at community functions during the next year. Fifteen young women competed in the pageant, held at Valencia High School.

First runner-up Amy Aston won a $1,000 scholarship, with scholarship money also being awarded to second runner-up Keri Walter ($500), third runner-up Serena Carbonati ($400) and fourth runner-up Season Marshall ($300), said Connie Leamon, executive director of the pageant.
